Nook Rules
The purpose of our Nook rules is to safeguard the safety, respect, and overall well-being of everyone within our space and community, encompassing our team, guests, hosts, partners, and collaborators.
We kindly request your attention to these guidelines during your visit to the teahouse
- Our Teahouse is not a restaurant or café and is open by reservation only for "after dark and before dark hours", workshops and special events.
- Please treat everyone in the Nook with kindness and respect. Our community is inclusive and embraces individuals of all ages. All are welcome here. At our place, it’s about fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included, regardless of their backgrounds or identities.
- Soft Voices, our Nook have small floor space or you will be sitting right next to other guests. Please refrain from speaking loudly that could disturb other guests.
- Know the dress code. Wear something that you'll be comfortable in while kneeling or sitting on the mats. For this reason avoid wearing Jeans, shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops. We request participants to wear clean socks or tights (no bare feet).
- Our Teahouse is a "Shoes Free Zone". The Nook is a Japanese-inspired teahouse. In accordance with Japanese tradition, visitors must remove their shoes before entering the teahouse. No exceptions, ever.
- Please wear clean pair of socks, as bare feet are not permitted. If you do not have socks, we ask you to purchase a pair of socks available on a basket at the Nook entry. Each pair of socks have a QR code scan it and Venmo pay.
- Show appreciation: We decorate our space with items close to our hearts. Please be considerate of our environment and refrain from removing anything, including candles, books, blankets, plants, cups, and other small objects.
- Limited Phone Zone! The Teahouse is intended to be a retreat focusing on networking and wellness. Our priority is the safety and wellness of our guests, employees and collaborators.
- Please turn off or silence your cellphone before entering the Nook in order to enhance your experience and to create a peaceful environment for everybody. Please refrain from speaking on the cell phone during your stay as it’s considered disrespectful. For urgent matters, please take the call at the entrance area or outside the teahouse. Please do not play games on your phone.
- Wi-Fi is unavailable at the Teahouse during '"after dark hours" at this time.
- Koselig Nook cannot accept walk-ins, due to limited capacity. Reservations are required for each visit. If you don't have a reservation when you arrive, you'll be denied entry at the entrance. Check our Calendar for open spots prior to coming to the Nook.
- We have a strict cancellation policy. No refunds/exchanges.
- We are crazy about tea time and want to give you the best experience possible. For this reason, please understand the following with regard to food allergies, dietary restrictions and special request.
- Our small selection of edible offerings are not produced on site, and we cannot guarantee against cross-contamination of any allergen.
- Our tea bar is not free from citrus, corn, dairy, eggs, gluten, nuts, soy, wheat or other allergens. We do not offer kosher options.
- If you are pregnant, nursing or have a health condition, pls consult a physician regarding which teas/herbals to avoid.
- No outside food, drinks, confetti or balloon are allowed during regular teahouse hours.
- Be considerate of our neighbors when arriving and departing the building.
We retain the authority to request guests to depart if we observe disregard for any of the aforementioned rules or if we detect any behavior deemed disrespectful to anyone at the teahouse, including our staff or fellow guests.
