About Caryn :
Caryn Lin is a classically trained violinist, composer, and pioneering electric violinist whose work bridges melody, atmosphere, and healing. Often described as magical and mesmerizing—like light traveling through a prism—her sound is a transcendent blend of emotion, texture, and vibration.
A native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Caryn studied with Philadelphia Orchestra violinist Larry Grika, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Northwestern University, and continued advanced studies in Germany with renowned virtuoso Suzanne Lautenbacher.
Her music is created using electric violin, live looping, sound effects originally designed for electric guitar, and original pre-recorded compositions—resulting in a deeply immersive sonic journey. In recent years, Caryn has expanded her work into sound healing, where the vibration of live music becomes a powerful tool for restoration, regulation, and release.
Caryn has performed at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, the Kimmel Center, yoga and meditation studios, hospitals, community spaces, and even a monastery in the French Alps. Her music has been featured on MTV, SiriusXM, and over 150 international radio stations, and both Caryn and her music appear in the film Philadelphia. She is currently recording her sixth studio album.
