Ikebana Flower Arranging Aug 25
Ikebana Flower Arranging Aug 25
Tuesday August 25. 7:00pm-8:30pm.
Step into a calm, creative gathering where flowers become your medium and time slows down in the best way!
This ikebana workshop offers a thoughtful introduction to the Japanese art of ikebana flower arrangement, designed to feel welcoming from the moment you begin.
You’ll learn how to arrange flowers with intention, starting with the core principles -- structure, line, form, and the beauty of negative space that defines this style.
As the session unfolds, you’ll create your own ikebana flower arrangement, moving at a pace that feels natural and unhurried.
Guidance is there when you need it, without pressure or overwhelm, making this flower arrangement class approachable whether it’s your first time or you’re simply looking for a fresh creative outlet.
All flowers and materials are provided, so you can stay focused on the experience itself. By the end, you’ll leave with a finished piece that’s entirely your own. If you’re searching for unique things to do -- whether it’s a creative solo outing or one of those unexpectedly relaxing group date ideas -- this ikebana workshop offers something a little different: quiet, hands-on, and genuinely refreshing!
She was born and raised in Tokyo. Her journey with flowers started long before it became her craft -- even during her years working at a software company, she kept flowers around her.
She went on to study formally in New York, and what followed was nearly a decade of working with flowers in every way imaginable -- supporting wedding and event design, and later running her own small flower business in Tokyo and Sapporo, specializing in intimate weddings and gift arrangements.
Somewhere along that journey, she discovered ikebana, and it felt like the missing piece she didn't know she was looking for.
The concept of designing with negative space, of letting emptiness speak just as loudly as the flowers themselves, resonated with her deeply.
That philosophy is really at the heart of what she does and teaches.
Ikebana isn't about filling a vase -- it's about composing a relationship between form, line, and silence.
Most people are surprised to discover that traditional masters spend more time deciding what not to include than what to put in. With her nearly 10 years of experience across multiple countries, she is excited to bring this practice and share it with a whole new community.
